ERIC

I’m Eric and I am 20 year old junior at the University of Rhode Island. Rhode Island has been my home for my whole life. I grew up in Newport, Rhode Island, yes, we do exist. I love the state but I am itching to move and experience a new place. During the school year I live in Narragansett, I love my parents, I really do, but I need my own space. I am a Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design major, with a Business minor. What is interesting is that I started with Business as a freshman, had no idea there was fashion program at URI, and made the switch second semester sophomore year. I am also the social chair for the URI club tennis team. This is my second year on the executive board, last year I was fundraising chair. Tennis has been a very important part of my life, I love the sport, cannot get enough of it.

Since switching to TMD, the one thing I am most interested in is sustainability. I was shocked to see how much waste goes into the fashion industry. My goal for the future is to make the industry as a whole more sustainable. Most of my clothing choices relate to sustainability; 75% of my clothes are polyester, nylon, rayon, organic cotton, etc. All materials that are more sustainable for earth. Sustainability in general is something that I am very passionate about. I try my best to make sure I am doing whatever I can to make the world a greener place!
